Hi, I'm Matin.

I'm Matin. I finished my B.S. in Computer Science at Arizona State University in May 2026 with a 3.74 GPA, and I'm now studying MSc Artificial Intelligence (Financial Analytics) at Imperial Business School in London.

The work I'm proudest of is the unglamorous kind: 28 merged fixes to Cloudflare's developer toolkit, including a Workflows crash I traced to a SQLite size limit, and a capstone platform that kept running through a malware incident.

I also tutored 180+ students in Java, C++ and Assembly, and I still write code and documentation with that reader in mind.

Outside of code

Away from the keyboard I'm usually listening to music across every genre, and I DJ too. I read history and finance books, I'm part of the Finance Club and the Pickleball Club at Imperial, and I'm in the gym every day.

Contributed 28 merged bug fixes across the toolkit. Traced a Cloudflare Workflows crash on large data outputs to a SQLite size limit and shipped a fix that kept workflows from failing. Removed two command-line bugs that broke automation scripts - a stray success message polluting stdout in `kv bulk get` and an AI-skills prompt corrupting shell autocomplete. Resolved recurring CLI crashes (EMFILE on the assets watcher, source-map failures on truncated error chunks, unhandled rejections on hot reload) and stabilized unreliable Windows CI tests.
28 merged PRs improving the reliability of tools used across Cloudflare's developer ecosystem, plus clearer error messages for D1, DO migrations, and _routes.json misconfiguration.

Software Engineering Specialist, ASU Industry Capstone · Arizona State University

Built the full-stack platform (Next.js, TypeScript, MySQL) with 8+ backend API features and structured error handling. Detected and contained the malware attack: identified the injection vector, hardened the Dockerfile with targeted COPY exclusions and /tmp cleanup, wrote automated malware detection scripts, and authored a security incident response runbook. Built a 24/7 monitoring and auto-recovery daemon (systemd service, 60-second health checks, automatic container restart on failure). Designed and shipped a GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline - build → push to GHCR → SSH webhook deploy - cutting deployment time from ~15 min manual to ~2 min automated. Automated Excel catalogue generation with Python data pipelines, cutting data-prep from hours to minutes. Integrated Microsoft Graph API for transactional email, and replaced the vulnerable xlsx library with ExcelJS across all API routes and admin scripts.
Placed 5th at ASU's Capstone Showcase. Server recovered from an active malware attack with zero data loss and no recurrence after hardening; deployment went from manual SSH sessions to fully automated; CI lint gate unblocked for clean merges.
